Baaaaad day [!]

Had a bit of a rough day today…tomorrow can only get better, right? 

Anyway, let’s talk photos.  Which do you like better? 



The first image is powerful in that you focus on her button nose, chapped little lips and her delicate-looking hands playing with the balls of her snow hat.  *These things go unnoticed in pic number 2.  I LIKE that the eyes are hidden because it’s not typical.  We LOOK for eyes for an image to be visually appealing (in my opinion) and without, the pic seems unfinished.  I guess that’s what I like about it. 

Her eyes grab me in the second picture.    SO much so that I don’t notice anything else…at all!    It really shows how a crop can alter the focus of a picture.  

I didn’t used to crop my images at all.   I just used my camera frame to crop as I took pictures.  However, after attending a workshop several months ago, Skye Hardwick encouraged cropping and it has opened up a whole new world to me!  I don’t do it all the time, but it sure has improved my images.
