The W Family knew exactly what they wanted — they had poses picked out, clothes ready to go, and even spots in their house (with good lighting) scoped out!  <–This even included the semi-warm, snazzy hot tub in the backyard ready for some incredible floating belly shots.  Also, the photography studio was waiting for us upstairs.  🙂   Sweeeeet!!!

I had a great time hanging out with the fam for the afternoon, especially laughing with their adorable daughter.   She was so happy and full of life.  Here are a couple sneak peeks…there are so many more photos I’m crazy about.

Can’t wait to meet with you guys and show you, C, how lovely you are.  You do have that prego glow and it becomes 1,000 times stronger when you’re surrounded by your fun-loving family.   Thanks for having me, you guys.  🙂

I love the above pic because her hubs just looks SO in the moment while she connects with the camera.   This image just exudes happiness to me.

I dig the artsy feel of the above photo.  The black and white.  The texture of her flowy shirt.  Her perfectly round belly.  My absolute FAVORITE part of this image though is the little hand on the left reaching up for mom’s belly.   The delicate, reaching hand reminds me of a part of Michelangelo’s legendary Sistine Chapel ceiling from the Creation of Adam.

This, to me, is what photography is all about (I know I’ve said this before, but I really mean it!).  Tying in art, feeling, creativity, focus.  I love that we, as viewers, can all see different things in an image.  Would you have noticed the hand?

Being a photographer (to me) isn’t always portraits and poses (although I DO love that part).  It’s looking beyond the obvious and capturing those in between moments that usually just drift by unnoticed.   I intentionally showed you two very different images that speak to me in two very different ways.       ~m
