***Special request for some smiley pics from M while she’s waiting to see her whole gallery.***

She’s too cute and bubbly!  I told her that although her smile is flippin’ LOVELY, sometimes I find myself drawn to her images that are more serious because her eyes are absolutely stunning and show SO much emotion.  Check these eyes out!

Okay, there’s a LITTLE smile in the above photo!  🙂  I love the *hint* of one.

I think my smiley fave of her happens to be the very first pic on the left side in the storyboard up top.  LOVE what she’s doing with her hands…and as Tyra Banks would say (hah!) she’s definitely “Smiling with her eyes.”

And a couple more randoms from our super fun session.  LOVED her timeless dress!

M — your gallery and slideshow will be ready for viewing tomorrow!

Have a fantastic day!   ~m

At long last, info for the super fun holiday minis is here!  I can’t wait to start taking holiday pics, designing cards, AND help you in creating lasting images of your family!  Photos are awesome gifts, too!  🙂

I know it’s incredibly hard to think about the holidays right now when it’s 111 degrees here in Phoenix, BUT there are only 18 more weekends until Christmas — that makes me shake in my boots!!!

Why are we scheduling holiday shoots now???  Not only do I need to shoot and edit sessions (a 2 week process) but it takes a bit (2+ weeks) to order/receive cards and images, too.  I’m sure my photo lab is going to be feeling the pressure because holiday cards are the IN THING right now!  And BOY do I have some incredible cards for you (a weakness of mine–options will be posted throughout the week!).  🙂

Here’s the info you’ve been waiting for…  (OH, and read allllll the way down for a super offer for 1 lucky fam!)

There are only a LIMITED NUMBER OF SESSIONS available throughout the next 3 months (whether you choose a mini session or a full session), so if you’re interested, make sure to send me an email and sign up before they’re gone! Speaking of gone, once the minis are booked in September the month is full!  🙂  I try my best to keep the “Availability” portion of this blog (look up top) current if you have a date in mind.

A little more info on the minis…

THE FINE PRINT

  • those who email with date/time preferences first get the first slots
  • payment, in full, must be received within one week in order to hold your date and time
  • sessions prices are up to 4 people ($25 extra per person)
  • $50 mini session print credit may only be used toward gift and wall prints
  • additional holiday cards, prints, and digital negatives may be purchased
  • all final print orders must be made by 11/28 to receive prints before Christmas

If you choose to have a regular session (more time + images than a mini), it needs to take place by 11/9 to receive holiday items (gift prints, cards, etc).   Session prices are located on my website www.maggiemcdonaldphotography.com under “investments.”

Oh, and if you’re doing a mini, since these sessions are so short, in your email to me with your preferred time(s) and date(s), please choose whether the session is a family session (only images of the family are taken — no individual shots of family members) or a child session (focus is on up to two children and sibling groups).  The goal is for you to have an incredible image (or two or three or…) for your holiday cards, as well as amazing images for your walls (+ gifts for friends and family).

AND if you made it this far (thank you, thank you!!!) I have two offers:

1) if you or your family have been photographed within the last 6 months by moi, you may purchase holiday cards with a favorite image from your session for $8 off a set (that means 24 gorgeous press-printed 5×7 flat cards for $42).  how cool is that!?

2) And the best part….SEEKING one adventurous, spirited family to do a mini session trial run on Sunday, August 31.  The first fam that I get an email from will get 50% off the session + all the other perks that come with the mini (it’ll cost ya $100 for all that!).  Doesn’t matter who you are or if you’ve ever had a session with me…friends/fam are just fine, too!

Okay, I think I’ve covered just about everything.  Thanks for your interest!  My email is maggiejmcd@msn.com if you’d like to reserve your session!  I will do my best to get back to your emails promptly and keep the availability page updated.  Have a GREAT Friday!  🙂

My best,

Maggie

I LOVE these announcements!!!  I think they are so classy, chic, & simple!

Here’s some eye candy for you soon-to-be parents out there who just might need some announcements made!  🙂  What I also really like about these is they can easily be altered, or switched around and paired with each other.

I had some clients with twins recently and i took example F and altered it so it would accomodate not one, but TWO adorable babies.  It worked out perfectly.

These announcements are 5×5 flat cards and come printed on both sides.

Have a great day.  🙂    ~m

Hey hey!  I’ve received several emails and bloggity questions regarding the underwater digi cam that I used for the pics a couple days ago…SO, I looked up all the info for ya.  🙂  First I started here.  I did a search for waterproof cameras and just settled on this page.  From there, I went to amazon and checked out some options.  I wasn’t picky because I wasn’t going to spend much.

I ended up spending $135 for this Intova, a 6 mega-pixel point and shoot camera (WITH optical zoom!) that includes the underwater housing.  The reviews were fine.  The price was right.  🙂

Is it easy?  Nope!  It’s pretty much a pain (not easy to work + a 3 second or more delay), BUT with a little luck and practice, I think we’ll end up being friends.   The battery life isn’t so hot.  The screen is impossible to see with the bright sun (and forget it underwater!!!) BUT I really don’t mind.  I’m getting exactly what I wanted — pics of my kiddos swimming — and it’s fun to do something new.

Took the cam out again today to my mom’s pool — it’s MUCH more sparkly than ours AND I had some help with the kiddos (smart move!) because Fella thinks he can swim now and just GOES and goes and jumps and swims without even caring if anyone is nearby.  Good thing Peachy is 100% on her own and confident in the water!

Oooh…if you get a waterproof cam, let me know.  Send me a pic or two.  Have fun!

I love my happy little swimmers.  🙂  ~m

“Be Present” is the mantra that gets J through the tough parts of her races…she even has an awesome custom made necklace that keeps her going.  🙂  Can you find it in the above collage???

When we initially spoke on the telephone, J mentioned wanting a collage of images.  She had some awesome ideas so we could get a lot of variety.  Here are some of her collage choices in collage/storyboard format:

^ FORGOT to mention that the first collage/storyboard can be created anywhere from a 10×10, 12×12, 20×20, to 30×30.  FUN, huh!??!!  There are just SO many possibilities.

^ 10×20 Storyboard with 5 vertical images

Of course, I have more collages for her that aren’t so busy, but our goal was to get all of her meaningful items into one storyboard.

^ 16×20 storyboard with up to 8 images (obviously not with this template though!)  🙂

WHAT an incredible athlete.  I had ***SOOO*** much fun with you, J!   ~m

OH, and I KNOW I said I’d post more train pics, BUT I got caught up in storyboarding SO I thought I’d share.  🙂

AND ONE more thing.   I’m SOOOO excited about doing a 16 square baby parts collage with the template used in the first example!  That’ll look SOOOOO super!  If you have a baby session coming up, this is one FUN and exciting option for you!
